That didn't take long. Quickly after President Barack Obama was sent a bill to end the government shutdown, Yosemite National Park officials put out word that they were opening immediately.

During the shutdown, which began October 1, the park was closed to visitors. Main roads remained open, but for traveling through only. Now all roads leading to and within, including Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove, are open.

Starting Thursday, visitor centers, ranger-led programs, and Yosemite Valley campgrounds will reopen. "Those with [campground] reservations will be able to check in by noon," a Yosemite press release stated. "First come, first serve sites at Camp Four, Wawona and Hodgdon are also available." Other campgrounds, like those in Tuolumne Meadows, are already closed for the season.

The Ahwahnee, Wawona Hotel, Curry Village, Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, Housekeeping Camp and other facilities operated by Delaware North will welcome visitors immediately, according to the Park Service. The popular Ansel Adams Gallery, which has operated since 1902 and is the oldest concessionaire in the entire national park system, will also reopen.
