Can Boomers Afford To Retire?
The sheer demographic power of 75 million "baby boomers" has often been a force for significant cultural change. For many decades, the future seemed bright. Professor Fernando Torres-Gil, director of the UCLA Policy Center for Research on Aging, outlines the financial outlook for a generation living longer, but with fewer resources, than previous generations. Twenty-five percent of "boomers" believe they can never afford to stop working. Professor Torres-Gil offers Your Turn to Care recommendations on how to fortify the social and financial foundations of this generation to add more promise to the retirement years.
