A Nice Warm Weekend Ahead
The warm weather is here, so take advantage this weekend. The National Weather Service is seeing an uptick of 5 to 10 degrees more than normal for this time of year across Southern California. "Temperatures will steadily climb today and tomorrow, and plateau on Sunday," said Ryan Kittell, a meteorologist for the Service's Oxnard office.
For most of Southern California, coastal areas will experience high temperatures in the 70s and in the 80s for inland and valley areas. Where that trend will be bucked is in Kern and Inyo counties, as well cities in the Mojave desert, where highs will stay in the 60s, and dipping into the 40s overnight, said meteorologist Modesto Vasquez at the Service's Hanford office.
Offshore winds felt throughout the region will be the strongest today, followed by weaker ones throughout the weekend.
Temperatures are expected to stay relatively the same through the early part of next week, but there is a small possibility, at this point, of rain on Wednesday.
