Video: Los Angeles in a Snow Globe

Snow may not blanket the city every winter, but the holidays still happen here. Filmmaker Colin Mika captured Los Angeles during the season, then "snow globified" it using 4000 still images. "The effect," he explains, "was achieved using a Canon 5D MII, a homemade tilt-shift style lens, a light bulb filled with water, and paper cut outs to create shaped bokeh" (the blur in the background).
Shots include The Hollywood Sign, downtown and the Santa Monica Pier.
