Late Bloom at State's Poppy Reserve

Park rangers thought poppies had peaked last week, but nature had other plans. There are still no carpets of orange, but for wildflower enthusiasts there's reason to celebrate at the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve:

If the weather cooperates--as in no heat waves--things could last for about three weeks, officials said.
