Following a screening of "Green Book," director/writer/producer Peter Farrell, writer/producer Nick Vallelonga and writer/producer Brian Hayes Currie attended a Q&A hosted by Cinema Series host Pete Hammond. Based on the true story of a black concert pianist who in the 1960s hires an ill-mannered New York City bouncer to chauffeur him on a concert tour in the Jim Crow South. Starring Academy Award® winner Mahershala Ali ("Moonlight," "Hidden Figures") and Oscar® nominee Viggo Mortensen ("Eastern Promises," "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy). The film's title refers to an actual travel guidebook that assisted African-American motorists in coping with discriminatory laws, whites-only gas stations, as well as restaurants and hotels that refused services during the segregation era in America.

Peter Farrelly is recognized along with his brother Bobby Farrelly for directing and producing quirky and romantic comedies such as "Dumb and Dumber," "Shallow Hal," "Kingpin," "There’s Something About Mary," "Me, Myself and Irene" and the 2007 remake of T"he Heartbreak Kid." Following the box office success of their first film "Dumb and Dumber," the creative duo have collaborated on nearly 20 films and television projects. Peter Farrelly’s "Green Book" won the Audience Award at the 2018 Toronto Film Festival.

Nick Vallelonga is an actor and filmmaker with credits that include "I Am Wrath," "Vigilante Diaries," "Chocolate City," "Coyote Ugly," "Rake," "Aquarius," "See Dad Run," "The Others," "New Jersey Shore Shark Attack," "Summoned" and "Unorganized Crime," which won Best Director at the Hollywood International Film Festival. Vallelonga has also produced and directed several indie films including "Yellow Rock," which took Best Director honors at the 2011 Red Nation Film Festival and the 2012 Western Heritage Awards.

Brian Hayes Currie developed interest in screenwriting at an early age while attending St. John’s Prep in Massachusetts and later at Middlebury College in Vermont. Over the course of his career he has worked on projects that include "Con Air," "McFarland, USA," "Stuck on You," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "Invincible," "Fever Pitch" and "Armageddon."
