'What They Had' Closes the Fall 2018 KCET Cinema Series

Following a screening of “What They Had,” actor Robert Forster and writer/director Elizabeth Chomko attended a Q&A hosted by Cinema Series host Pete Hammond. From first-time writer and director Elizabeth Chomko, "What They Had" centers on a family in crisis. Bridget (Hilary Swank) returns home to Chicago at her brother’s (Michael Shannon) urging to deal with her ailing mother (Blythe Danner) and her father’s (Robert Forster) reluctance to let go of their life together.

Robert Forster is an Academy Award® nominee for Quentin Tarantino's "Jackie Brown." He has appeared in over 100 other films including "Reflections in a Golden Eye," "Medium Cool," "The Stalking Moon," "Alligator," "Vigilante," "The Black Hole," "Stunts," "The Delta Force," "American Perfekt," "London Has Fallen," "Automata," "Survivor," "Olympus Has Fallen," "The Descendants," "Middle Men," "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," "Thick as Thieves," "Like Mike," "Me, Myself & Irene," "Firewall,"​ "Lakeboat" and "Diamond Men." His television credits include "Twin Peaks,"​ "Backstrom," "Last Man Standing," "Breaking Bad," "Intruders," "Alcatraz," "Heroes," "Huff!," "Karen Sisco" and "Fastlane."

Elizabeth Chomko is an American filmmaker, playwright, actress and musician. Originally from Chicago, she is an alumna of the Sundance Institute’s Screenwriters and Composers Lab, and her script "What They Had" won the prestigious Nicholl Fellowship, an international screenwriting competition established by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Her stage plays have been produced at the Blank Theatre, Inkwell Theatre’s LAB and the Kennedy Center’s New Plays Festival. Additionally, Chomko has appeared as an actress in various films and television series. She has acted onstage in London and across the U.S.
