On Monday, January 31 at 5:00 pm, KCET will broadcast a live SoCal Connected special on Governor Jerry Brown's State of the State address. SoCal Connected anchor Val Zavala and Correspondent Judy Muller will be joined by Jon Fleischman, founder and publisher of FlashReport.org, and David Lazarus, Los Angeles Times Business Columnist, for analysis and commentary immediately following the State of the State speech.

The SoCal Connected special report will also stream live at kcet.org. (The television program will also be repeated at 9:00 pm.This year's State of the State address has drawn a lot of advance notice because of the anticipated cuts Governor Jerry Brown is proposing to deal with California's $25-billion deficit. In a press conference last week, Brown made it clear he won't back away from controversial plans.
